A Newborn Photography Session in Hertfordshire - Angela, Frank, Lorenzo & Jules
This session was really special as I had the honour of capturing Angela in her pregnancy shortly before Christmas. As a motherhood photographer in Hertfordshire, I love to celebrate women in their pregnancy and capture beautiful, timeless art. She looked like an ethereal goddess standing beneath the crescent moon, wearing a flower crown inspired by her wedding flowers & made by one of lovely clients Becs, who owns Flowers at 58, as a gift for the session.
Ang, Frank & Lorenzo welcomed baby Jules home to their cosy Victorian in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. The house has been in Franks family for generations as it was once his grandmothers, there couldn’t be a more perfect setting for a cosy in home newborn photography session. We incorporated Ang’s flower crown into some of their portraits. Baby Jules fed throughout the session which was lovely as Ang wanted to capture their breastfeeding journey; a journey that comes with so many ups & downs. We shared our stories of feeding, birth, transitioning from one babe to two… these are the golden hazy days but they are oh so intense. There is something so cathartic and nourishing being surrounded by mothers who find themselves also in the depths of mothering, I have so much love & admiration for the mothers I’m lucky to meet. I know just how hard these days are so it’s important that a session with me is as easy & stress free as possible. All my newborn photography sessions include access to my carefully curated & timeless .client wardrobe. My approach to newborn photography is very relaxed, baby & parent led, I love to create a mixture of storytelling and portrait images for you to cherish & adorn on your walls, as well as teeny tiny newborn details that you’ll never want to forget.

I get asked often when is the best time to book in for a newborn session, my advice would be to reach out around your 12 or 20 week scan as my diary books up months in advance; I only take a handful of newborn sessions a month to allow for flexibility in moving dates once little ones arrive. I can’t wait to create a little bit of nostalgic magic for you.
